One-Way Ticket chronicles the true story of how Melinda and her husband Terry uprooted their fast-paced lives in New Jersey and relocated to Anguilla, an island in the Caribbean that The New York Times has called the "British St. Bart’s."
Imagine locking your door for the last time, driving to the airport, and flying away to paradise—just the two of you, two bags, and two cats. That’s exactly what these corporate executives did in the early 2000s.
Each chapter highlights their challenging journey, from the daunting delays and realities of building their villa on the island’s turquoise shores, to the exhausting ordeal of selling in New Jersey post-9/11—all while continuing their endeavors in the medical devices and pharmaceuticals industries.

Theirs is a story of determination and joy, as they realize a dream that has been more fulfilling than they ever thought possible.

About the Author
From the day Melinda met him, her husband Terry said he wanted to live in the Caribbean.
Eventually, she achieved her career goals in the vast pharmaceuticals industry, and he had driven a devices company across forty quarters of double-digit growth to acquisition by a Fortune 300 company. It was time to pursue their Caribbean dream—and moving to a wired island with a nearby international airport allowed them to keep working with their US and European clients—and walk a perfect beach every morning.
Melinda graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California, where she also obtained her MBA. She assumed increasing sales, training, and marketing responsibilities in the healthcare sector before establishing her consultancy in 2001.
Since making the island their home, they have enjoyed every facet of life in Anguilla and been welcomed into more families and embraced more friendships than they ever thought possible.
