In  Disney's all-new, live-action epic adventure directed by Jon Favreau, Mowgli, a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he's forced to abandon the only home he's ever known

Here are some of the reviews ....

I recently saw The Jungle Book in theaters and was blew away by almost every aspect of the film.

Overall the story was something I already knew. If you have either read the stories by Rudyard Kipling ro seen the original animated classic done by Disney, you know the overall premise of the story. They stay pretty true to the Disney classic bringing in the songs from the original film and keeping most of the characters and elements of the animated film. Which is what I love, it's amazing seeing these animated movies that I have been watching since childhood in real life with such beautiful graphics and CGI that it is outstanding.

The scenes and animals in the movie are beyond my expectations. The CGI for the animals are perfect and look so real that at times when the animals aren't speaking human tongue, it would they could easily be mistaken for real animals, but thankfully PETA isn't in an uproar over this film because they are fake. As for all of the jungle scenes, they are outstanding. I saw the film in 3D on a big screen and everything looked so gorgeous and the colors of the plants and the natural scenery added to the overall beauty of the film.

Overall, I would say this is a very worthy adaptation of the classic animated film and of Kipling's stories. The acting done by the boy is very amazing and surprised me very much seeing a little kid making his way to the big screen and playing a role solely by himself and nailing it. And all of the voice acting is perfect for each animal as well, they add so much emotion to the roles and all of the voices were perfectly picked for the film. I would highly recommend this movie especially if you loved the animated film or the stories, they did such a good job bringing this story to life and adding new touches while staying true to the overall premise of the original story. I don't think you will be disappointing in this film and even if you are not a fan of the story, see it for the amazing graphics and scenes. Such an amazing overall."

"Fantastic movie. Even though I grew up reading Jungle Book as a kid and I knew what was going to happen, I was at the edge of my seat. The story is quite simple with Mowgli (Neel Sethi who is brilliant) who has been living with the wolves since he was a baby is cast out of the pack in fear and mistrust. With the help of his faithful friend Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) he begins to make his way to the man- village. However, Bagheera and the tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba, wonderfully menacing) clash, Mowgli has to fend for himself. He then meets Baloo (Bill Murray) and they have a series of adventures together. The story is beautifully told and covers complicated topics like not fitting in,the importance of your pack staying together. One of my favorite moments of the film is where Bagheera and Baloo have validation that Mowgli is different and that taking him to the village may have him lose that. The movie is most definitely not one for small children, having some very tense scenes. I really felt that Jon Favreau has done a fantastic job of bringing one of my favorite childhood novels to life. The animals which I know are all CGI look superbly real.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who has read jungle book."

"Wow is this movie outstanding.

Since the late 90's, we have been bombarded by movies with CGI effects, but this one takes them to a whole new and remarkable artistic level. Every frame of this picture is a total joy to watch, because this Disney team spared no expense and they went into the finest details providing us with a true masterpiece.

Most of us know the story written by the legendary English Author Joseph Rudyard Kipling's 1894 children's adventure masterpiece novel "The Jungle Book", and the Disney animated movie plus tv series that came in the 20th century. A young boy is abandoned and left to be raised by noble wild animals in the jungle.

The young boy is watched over in particular by a gallant pack of wolves, and a heroic sagacious black panther who knows this "man cub" is a special one. The boy has to be taught, protected, but yet also set out on a physical trial of his own in order to survive against the creature who is Hell bent on hunting him down, the mighty Bengal Tiger "Sher Khan".

During the boy's adventure he stumbles upon Bill Murray as the lovable bear "Balloo", and the tale continues. Even Christopher Walken gets in on the action of this film, playing the gigantic monkey temple overlord "King Louie" (seeing of all the people in the world, Walken in that legendary voice role originally portrayed by Louis Prima, was a bombastic surprise but it does work.)

Usually for my own tastes I rarely if ever watch or even review a movie aimed for kids, but this one in particular had profoundly moved me with the beauty and animated detail mixing real actors with the CGI backgrounds and creatures better then any other film placed upon screen in recent memory.

My only complaint is certainly NOT with the movie nor Disney, but with our horrible American movie & tv rating system which physically makes me sick. This film with out any doubt in my mind should have been rated G, because it is 2016's quintessential all ages family movie Disney has mastered over the many decades. For those of you out there who believe "The Jungle Book" should have been left alone, this modern adaptation is a fine addition to the work done before, and may spark kids interest in watching the original cartoon film.

Although panned, the 90's version with an adult Mowgli played by Jason Scott Lee, was in my mind also very enjoyable, but it pales in comparison with this version for the 2010's.

This film provides brilliant scenes, lovable actors from years past guiding a very likable youngster, and some pretty deep and sinister villains.

I give this movie an A and two thumbs up."

The main role is played by Neel Sethi

Neel Sethi, a 10-year-old newcomer from New York, will star in the film as the young boy who is raised by jungle animals. He'll be the only actor to appear onscreen in the project, which is a combination of live-action and animation. Disney has slated it for release in 3D on October 9, 2015.
