How to protect your hair from chlorine
7/21/2016
- Shower before hitting the pool: the cuticles of your hair act like a sponge. If they’re filled with clean water, it’ll be harder for the pool water to penetrate and damage your hair.
- Use oil treatments before heading to the pool and cover it with the swimmer's cap.
- Wear the simmer's cap more often to prevent contact with chlorine
- Wash your hair after you are done swimming. Use a clarifying shampoo like Ultra Swim to remove the chlorine residue. Apple cider vinegar also helps remove the extra residue
- Damage control masks to replenish the moisture in your hair that chlorine normally removes and ends up drying your scalp.
